Turforslag 2: Voss-Myrdal-Flåm
Ta toget til nydelig natur og flotte fjell. En flott togtur! Fra Myrdal stasjon kan en gå til Vatnahalsen Hotell eller fortsette videre mot mot Finse. Dette er den flotte Rallarvegen. Ta med godt med klær og niste dersom du ønsker det! Fra Myrdal eller Vatnahalsen kan en ta toget til Flåm. Denne turen tar ca 40 minutter. Her er det også muligheter for å gå nedover den vakre Flåmsdalen, denne turen tar ca 5 timer alt etter som.

Trip 2

Trip 2: Voss-Myrdal-Flåm
Take the train from Voss Station to Myrdal in beautiful nature and mountain scenery. From Myrdal Station you can walk to Vatnahalsen Hotel or you can continue towards Finse. This is the legendary Rallarvegen. From Myrdal Station or Vatnahalsen Station you can take the train to Flåm. This trip takes about 40 minutes. You can also walk down the beautiful Flåm valley. This trip takes about 5 hours. Bring warm clothes and food. Be prepared for a trip in the mountains.

The Rallarveg Bike Trek

The Navvy Road - The Rallarveg – Greatest Mountain Bike Trek in Norway

Riding the Rallarveg is one of the most fascinating cycling experiences in Norway and even in Europe.

The Rallarveg was built in the late 19^th century as a part of building Bergensbanen, the railway from east to west in Norway. The Rallarveg starts at Haugastøl in Buskerud County. The station at Haugastøl was built in 1905 as office and home for the station manager. From Haugastøl the Rallarveg goes to Finse, a distance of 27 km, from 988 to 1222 meters above sea level.

Along the road you see the abandoned mountain village of Nygard, the Gråskallen guard hut, Tunga crossing, Lord Garvagh’s hunting lodge, larsbu Guard hut. At Finse you will find; Finse Station, Post office, hotel and DNT Tourist Cabin. From Finse you can walk to Baalisen by your self. You can also order guided trips to Hardangerjøkulen.

From Finse the road continues to Hallingskeid a distance of 19 km, from 1222 to 1350 meters above sea level at Fagernut and down to 1110 meters above sea level at Hallingskeid. On this section of The Rallarveg you will pass Nordnut Guard hut, Sandå Guard hut, Fagernut (highest point of the road), beautiful lakes like Sandåvatn, Fagervatn, Tungevatn and Låghellervatn, Grjotrust Guard hut, Lågheller. At Hallingskeid you will find NSB Station and DNT Tourist Cabin.

From Hallingskeid the Rallarveg continues to Vatnahalsen and Myrdal, a distance of  17 km, from 1110 to 867 meters above sea level at myrdal Station. Do take your time along Kleivavatnet, it is beautiful! Here your really feel the nature and the work done by the construction people, called The Rallar. You will also se the Falls of Moldå before you continues to Seltuft. If you find the time wait for any train to pass and follow it as it goes in and out of the mountains. Then there is Vatnahalsen Hotell at Flåmsbana. At Vatnahalsen you can stay the night to continue the next day to Myrdal station or to Flåm. The distance to Flåm is 20 km and you will end up at sea level. Down the Flåmsdalen you will see a beautiful valley with a lot of vegetation! The first part of the road you will have to walk the bikes as it is too steep.

From Myrdal Station you can take the train to Uppsete Station and continue to Voss, another 45 km. At Voss you end up at 57 meter above sea level.  At Uppsete you can visit Uppsete Fjellstove where you can dine and stay the night. At Mjølfjell you will find Mjølfjell Vandrarheim. From Mjølfjell you continue to Reimegrend, Skiple, Urdland, Klyve. At Klyve you can accommodate in a self catering holiday house, see: www.vossatunet.com

From Klyve you will now soon see Voss and Vossevangen. At Voss you can stay, dine and continue your travel east or west by train etc.
